Volunteers for Jun 21 2022 Swim Meet

Parents

Again thank you for volunteering and playing an important role in running the swim meets successfully.  Last meet went really well - we made adjustments based on learnings from the Blue and White meet.  I'm looking forward to another successful meet tomorrow.   If you have suggestions for improvements, please do let me know.

Tomorrow will be our first away meet at 5729 Brushy Meadows Drive, Fuquay-Varina, NC.  As you saw in our weekend newsletter, swimmers and volunteers are expected to arrive by 5:15pm to start our warmup at 5:30.

PS: Reminders about Volunteering

  • If you cannot volunteer tomorrow, please let me know ASAP. Every role is critical and even a single no-show will impact our ability to run the meet successfully.
  • Volunteers must stay for the entire meet.  Since it is an away meet, we have fewer roles this week. If you need to step out, please find me or one of the board members to help you out.
  • Kid pushers are one of the most critical roles to enable us to keep the meet running on time. As a kid pusher,
    • Your primary responsibility is safety of our kids during the meet. Next is making sure the kids gather at the starting area when clerk of course calls for them.
    • Please do NOT leave the kids in your group unattended or let kids wander around.  From safety point of view, realize we are away from home and so be extra vigilant - especially with the 10 and below age group. All Parents, please remind your kids to stay with the kid pusher, inform him/her if they need to go somewhere, respect/follow the kid pusher's instructions, and most importantly clean up their space before they leave.
    • If a kid in your group needs to go somewhere (concessions, restroom, etc.) make sure the kid (especially 10 and under) are accompanied by an adult – it can be one of the kid pushers, deck parent, or the kid’s parent/elder sibling/guardian.
    • Make sure all the kids find their parents before you leave the meet.
